1. First, and most importantly, download the SunSmart App.  After recording your skin type, this app will tell you when it is time for another layer of the lotion! Everyones’ skin is different so what is good for someone else is not neccesarily good for you. Please be careful this summer and where the appropriate amount of sunscreen!

2. No summer party is ever complete without the jams pumping! To ensure your party is music filled with only the best tunes, check out TuneIn Radio, a free radio app that lets you broadcast your own music or pick and choose your favorite songs! One of the best and newest music apps we have seen in a while.

4. On to one of the most fabulous grilling apps you will find, GrillTime. GrillTime sets off alarms on your phone when to flip burgers, chicken or any other meat! Instead of guessing when the food is ready, or forgetting about it because of how much fun your party is, rely on this app to help you make the best tasting barbeque anyone has ever had!

Make A Wish Brings Batkid to San Francisco

By now, many of you may have heard about San Francisco turning into Gotham City on November 15th?! Make-A-Wish Foundation rose to the challenge so this real life hero, 5-year-old Miles can embark on a series of crime-solving adventures and will get to live a day in the life of Batman! Amazing!

Miles’ crime-solving day is part of the foundation’s mission to turn dreams into reality for sick children. Miles has leukemia.

Miles will set across the city to accomplish tasks ranging from rescuing a damsel in distress from the Hyde St. cable car tracks in Nob Hill, capturing the Puzzler in the act of robbing a downtown vault and will of course have to take a break and stop for a burger at the Burger Bar. While at Burger Bar, he will get a special message from the Chief of Police to go to the window – where he will look down and see a huge group of volunteers jumping up and down asking for Batkid’s help because the villainous Mr. P. will be kidnapping a famous San Francisco mascot!

The getaway car will be visible on Union Square (a convertible so that everyone can see what is happening), and the chase will be on! After catching Mr. P., Batkid will make his final stop at City Hall, where the Mayor and the Police Chief of San Francisco will thank him and give him the key to the city. We’re in tears!!

Make A Wish encourages volunteers to show up at certain points throughout the day to cheer him on! If you would like to participate in this epic event, be sure to RSVP.

We know we’ll be there to encourage Miles and we hope to see you there too! Let us know if you’ll be joining in the fun in the comments below or on Facebook & Twitter

ABCey’s Weekend Line-up: 3.1.13 – 3.3.13

What better time than now to try out some new SF hot spots and attend some great events? Well…. there isn’t one! Take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather and explore more of our beloved city, or take a cruise to Tahoe for some fun in the snow. ABCey has put together a quick list of what’s in store this weekend!

1. SnowFest 2013 | Fri, Sat & Sun | Tahoe | It’s kind of like Freezing Man as opposed to Burning Man. The Space Cowboys will make your weekend in the snow as epic as that hot week in the summer, but in a different way.  Get ready to experience Tahoe as never before with three days of dancing and partying fun. Friday night, enjoy the après ski danceparty under the gondola, complete with fireworks and other excellencies of the like. Saturday there is a day party for those snow bunnies without the requisite skill, desire, or monetary levels to truly hit the slopes. And then there is a fun-for-all on Saturday night as you party like (almost) Tahoe locals behind the Safeway at one of Truckee’s hottest spots, the Lakeside Club.

2. Hand to Mouth: Celebrity! | Friday | The Dark Room | James Fluty and Trevor Hill present Hand to Mouth: a monthly, topic-based comedy show where each edition explores a specific social, cultural or political issue. One show, one topic.

3. UNPLUG SF: Device-Free Drinks Party | Friday | Cell Space | An off-the-grid party to celebrate the National Day of Unplugging. Check your phone at the door and you’ll redefine what it means to truly be connected. It will be a night of Digital Detox goodness – massage lounge, live music, typewriters, arts and crafts, hand-drawn portraits, board games, dancing… you name it!

4. Camp Question Mark’s Silent Disco on BART | Saturday | BART | ZEROdb has taken the music community by storm with their ‘silent’ parties. And they’re back this time with another takeover of BART. Hop on the train at a designated station, receive your headphones (in exchange for your ID), and enjoy the ride. Each DJ set will broadcast on a channel through the headphones, and without them, you will be unable to hear the bass beats of DJs like Rebirth, Megowan, and Stylust Beats. For something out of the ordinary, hop on BART this Saturday.

5. Indie Festival: Noise Pop 2013 | Fri, Sat & Sun | Noise Pop is an indie music, arts, and film festival. Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists who have gone on to achieve widespread acclaim. Notable acts have included the White Stripes, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins, Bright Eyes, Best Coast, and Jeff Tweedy.

Let us know which ones you’ll be attending in the comments below or on Facebook & Twitter!  ABCey will be up in Tahoe for the SnowFest festivities, so be sure to say hello. Hope to see you all there!
