ABCey’s Startup Monday: Loopd
Startup Monday is ABCey’s weekly post that showcases some of the most innovative startups based in San Francisco! These are often companies that we have our eye on or have worked with in the past. This week, we are putting the spotlight on Loopd!
What is Loopd?
Loopd is an event engagement platform aimed to make networking easier and to access to relevant marketing materials for your attendees, but it doesn’t stop there! Loopd is a great tool that benefits event planners and booth staff, too! It allows you to track guest traffic information, view interaction history and follow up with attendees!
How does it work?
Loopd is able to provide information and promote engagement with two devices: Bluetooth beacons and chips located in lanyards! Beacons are placed around the venue and communicate with the chips around guests’ necks to allow for location-tracking tools. For guests to share networking information, a simple tap between their badges can help exchange all needed information! Talk about convenient. To receive materials from any booth you visited at the event, a quick look to the app will give you access to all the fliers and promotions from the exhibitor! As event planners, you are able to track how successful your event is with real time analytics and to see what attracts the most guests.
Why we love Loopd!
Aside from the networking capabilities and analytics, Loopd also cuts down on check in and check out times! Event planners always find ways to cut down on waiting times to prevent boring guests, and Loopd is an amazing solution. With this technology, guests are able to cut down on their carbon footprint by networking through the badges instead of passing out business cards. Also, it eliminates the need for printed fliers since it can be shared through the app!
Have you had to opportunity to use Loopd or interested in trying it out? We’d love to hear from you! Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook and Twitter!

#TechTuesday: SummitSync
#TechTuesday highlights the best and brightest ideas in the tech world. ABCey would like to recognize these up and coming technologies for their innovative ideas and impact on the event world!
Networking is an essential part of the business world. When it comes to events, meetings and conferences, networking helps to develop meaningful relationships and connections that can unlock future business opportunities. However, when at a conference with thousands of attendees, finding those connections can sometimes be nerve-racking and just flat-out awkward. SummitSync is the solution to that problem. Like Tinder for conference apps, it brings the fun and excitement back into networking, making it more efficient and easy.
How it works.
First you sign up with your LinkedIn account.
Then you can choose which conference you are attending and in which city.
Once you have your selected conference, you can scroll through profiles of event attendees.
Swipe right if interested or left (not interested).
And just so swipe lefts don’t get too awkward, the app only allows you to connect with attendees that reciprocate your interest.
Once a connection is made, you can then message through the app and plan a time to meet at the actual conference.
SummitSync is transforming the way conference attendees engage; making it easier to discover and develop valuable business relationships. Gone are the days of countless handshakes accompanied by awkward and forgettable conversations. Instead, build those relationships beforehand and spend less conference time worrying about making the right connections and more time engaging in the actual conference.
Planning on using SummitSync before you attend your next conference? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter!

Startup Monday: Bed|n|Build, Affordable Startup Housing
Startup Monday is ABCey’s weekly post that features some of the best and brightest companies in the Bay Area. They are often companies that we have our eye on or have worked with in the past & would like to share with friends and followers of ABCey Events!
This week, we have our eye on Bed|n|Build, a startup that provides a great service that benefits the startup world. Bed|n|Build differs from most other tech related and software startups in the Bay Area because it offers something fundamental – housing!
Most entrepreneurs, tech geeks, nerds, designers, hackers etc. have better things to do than look for affordable housing, furniture, and housing services. For many people without a credit history, it can be a challenging task. Not to mention, people that travel to the Bay Area from different countries often struggle to find a place to stay.
Bed|n|Build is the perfect landing pad for startup people! It doesn’t just offer affordable startup housing, but also a whole network of like-minded housemates, as well as activities and events on a regular basis that help establish new friendships or business connections.
Currently, Bed|n|Build offers housing in San Francisco and Redwood City, but plans to expand the business globally. Busy entrepreneurs could travel around the globe and always have a place to stay with Bed|n|Build. The houses are big, clean, and completely furnished and the tenants can chose between private or shared rooms.
Best of all, Bed|n|Build knows that life is not just all about work. Aside from providing the perfect environment to get work done, the tenants of Bed|n|Build receive plenty of entertainment and networking opportunities! Weekly pub crawls, group cooking, weekend trips, meet and greets with successful entrepreneurs, and happy hours are just a few things on the list.
ABCey loves Bed|n|Build’s vision of a global landing pad for startup people. Its service has become more and more popular and rooms fill up fast! Would you stay with Bed|n|Build? Comment below or on Facebook and Twitter.
