ABCey’s Weekend Lineup 6.5.14- 6.8.14

The summer kickoff parties are  in full swing this weekend and here at ABCey Events, we can’t wait to attend some of these fun and exciting events in the Bay Area! As usual, there are plenty of events to choose from and this weekend we narrowed down some of our favorites including parties, fairs, and festivals!

Featured Event: DISTRIKT Revel Station| Saturday, June 7th|1:00 pm-10pm|16th Train Station Oakland|Head over just across the bridge to Oakland and attend DISTRIKT Revel Station. This event is a non-profit electronic music party and the only fundraiser in the Bay Area prior to Burning Man.  The party will feature 4 areas of sound by DJ’s DISTRIKT, Dusty Rhino, Friends and Family, and Opulent Temple. Food and beverages will be offered and a cool new lounge area will be built making this year the biggest year DISTRIKT Revel Station has had! This sounds so fun and we can’t wait to see pictures and hear how this event goes! This event is 21 and over with $20 presale / $30 door.

1. Sunset Artisan Fair |Saturday June 7th|11:00 am-4:00pm|3635 Lawton St. San Francisco|The Artisan Fair is an annual event featuring handmade DIY(do it yourself) crafts by local artisans. These include jewelry, art, sewn goods, accessories, and more. Also included at the event are gourmet street food and deserts with live music! Every year 100% of the proceeds go to a charity organization. Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday!

 2.Basic Training Hayes Valley Launch Party |Saturday June 7th|12:00 pm-4:00 pm|432 Octavia St. San Francisco|Do you love to workout outdoors? Come attend the launch of The Basic Training fitness hub, an innovative outdoor workout space for public use in Hayes Valley. The free, pop-up fitness pod will transform a previously unused parking lot to a colorful, bright, multi-use space. The day kicks off with free Basic Training workout classes from 8 am until 12 noon at the top of every hour. Starting at noon, the party begins with free food, free drinks, music, and giveaways until 4 pm. So get sweaty with Basic Training’s day of fitness and fun!

3. Union Street Festival|Saturday, June 7th-June 8th|10:00 am-6:00 pm|Union Street to Gough to Steiner Street., San Francisco|Looking for a place to try new food, craft beer, and wine all while enjoying local art and community groups? Come visit the Union Street Festival this weekend. For the 2014 festival, the six blocks of the event will feature a unique collection of fashion, food, technology, crafts, and health and fitness booths. Grab a couple of friends and experience this long-standing San Francisco event.Free to attend but bring money for food and drinks!

4. Silent Frisco| Sunday, June 8th| 11:00 am| Ocean Beach San Francisco|Love to dance and listen to music? This San Francisco based event uses cutting edge technology to enable artistic expressions with headphones! Silent Frisco will provide more than 3,000 two channel festival optimized headphones for attendees. These headphones operate on two simultaneous long-range feeds providing the best audio. This enables attendees to enjoy the music while neighbors enjoy peace and quiet. Silent Frisco always tries to find places where concerts normally wouldn’t be and their mission is to get people under the stars, out in fields, or at this year’s venue, Ocean Beach! Silent Frisco is featuring 2 channels: Boys Vs. Girls. The two hour set will include: Kraak & Smaak• Ana Sia• Pumpkin• J*Labs• Motion Potion• LAURA Lisbona• DEEJAY THEORY• HOLLY RICH• DING DONG • KIMBA• Matt Haze. We can’t wait to see this event come to life!

5.California Dreaming- Poolside Party+ Fashion Show +Trunk Show |Sunday June 8th|12:00 pm-7:00 pm|The Hotel Phoenix 601 Eddy St. San Francisco|Come check out the best of the best in local San Francisco DJ’s and Designers while enjoying some poolside fun in the sun! The second annual party will feature eleven DJ’s and seventeen, with more to be announced, designers. This is a great chance to bring along some friends and support local talent! We love a good pool party and this one sounds like a ton of fun!

ABCey’s Weekend Lineup 5.16.13 – 5.19.13

 

Though it’s a gloomy day in San Francisco, the weekend is supposed to clear up in time for some great events. We’ve gathered up tech events for the techies, a festival for the wine lovers, and of course the legendary Bay to Breakers marathon! 

1. Pitch Night! | May 16th | Spear St | Connect with Silicon Valley’s community of entrepreneurs and Google Developers. Pitch Night is your opportunity to meet people from the valley and around the world, pitch your ideas, form teams, and take the first steps at making your idea viable.  This is a one night event, unlike a typical Startup Weekend event is only 5 hours.

2. Digitally Chic Meetup: Spring Fever | May 16th | The View @ The Marriott Marquis | Meet and mingle with all of the fashion geeks you’ve been sharing tech & fashion news within the DC group. This is a perfect opportunity to network and bond with people with whom you share a common interest. 

3. “Feel the Music” Music & Tech | May 17th | North Beach | “Feel the Music” is a two-day forum on music and the science of how it produces emotion. A 3D, ambisonic sound studio helps make decisions in architecture, urban planning, and multimedia art, while new devices like the MobileMuse estimate the emotional impact of a live performance.

4. 2013 Uncorked San Francisco Wine Festival |  May 18th | Ghirardelli Square | The eighth annual Uncorked Wine Festival is a free all day festival in Ghirardelli Square with live music, wine seminars and chef demonstrations by renowned Bay Area chefs. Beach Street will be closed to traffic for the event to provide room for over 40 Northern California wineries, breweries and other merchants. Wine and other vendors will be showcased throughout the courtyards of Ghirardelli Square as well.

5. Bay to Breakers | May 19 | The Embarcadero to Ocean Beach |  Each year the race is a glorious celebration of the human spirit – a giant wave of athleticism, fun, frivolity, and determination flowing across the City from the Bay to the Pacific Ocean. In the true spirit of San Francisco the race is a celebration for everyone. Thousands of costumed participants join with families, and weekend runners and walkers.

10 California Music Festivals Not To Be Missed

We are well on our way into the season of music festivals! It’s difficult to beat the combination of being with your friends and enjoying your favorite music. Some festivals aim to show appreciation for a specific genre for days at a time, while others pair music with wine, beer, and art for a truly well-rounded experience. As Californians, we are lucky to live in a state that hosts some of the best music festivals in the world! ABCey wouldn’t want you missing out on the fun, so check out this list of upcoming festivals in 2013 and be sure to mark your calendars!

1. Coachella 2013 | Indio |  April 12-14/April 19-21 | Nicknamed the “Official Ambassador of Music Festivals”, Coachella is the ultimate kickoff to summer festival season. Multiple genres such as rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic music. 

2. Desert Daze 2013 | Mecca | April 20 | Camping, art, and music! Encouraging of camping and carpooling, this festival is full of good vibes. Organized by a group of close friends and a growing collective of musicians and artists from LA and beyond.

3. Stagecoach 2013 | Indio | April 26-28 | California’s outdoor country music festival, seen as the “cousin” of Coachella. Various artists attend, both popular and relatively unknown, ranging from folk, mainstream country, bluegrass, roots rock, and alternative country.

 4. BottleRock 2013| Napa | May 9-11 | Over 60 great bands on 3 Napa expo stages. Top wineries, the best of Napa food, microbrews, and today’s top comics.  If those don’t appeal to you, the lineup certainly will. You can find something for everyone at this festival!

5. California Roots Music and Arts Festival | Monterey | May 24-26 |  A three-day celebration held over Memorial Day weekend at the beautiful Monterey County Fairgrounds. You can expect the best in Reggae/Rock from around the world, delicious food and unique craft vendors, as well as a dynamic live art experience. 

6. Sierra Nevada World Music Festival | Boonville | June 21-23 | A festival dedicated to uniting the world in celebration of the universal spirit of music. It offers food, crafts and art from places such as Indonesia, West Africa, Jamaica, Ethiopia and India. SNWMF is known for the positive, conscious, environmentally aware community it attracts.

 7. High Sierra Music Festival | Quincy | July 4-7 | Celebrating its 20th festival this year, High Sierra has found itself to be a 10,000 person event with more than 50 performers on four day-time stages and in four late-night venues. The Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy provide on-site infrastructure with opportunities to swim, bike, fish, golf and hike.

 8. Outside Lands 2013 | SF | August 9-11 | A harmonious marriage of music, food, wine, beer and art, Outside Lands is a highly anticipated festival representing San Francisco’s vibrant cultural community. This green-conscious event directly benefits the San Franscisco Recreation & Park Department with a special annual donation.

9. Rock The Bells | San Bernadino, Aug 18-19 | Mountain View, August 25-26 | Featuring a line-up of high-profile world class hip-hop artists, this festival began in Southern California in 2004 and now makes its way to three different locations. Rock The Bells is the best collection of hip-hop artist performances that you’ll find.

10. Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival | SF | October 4-6 | A free and entirely noncommercial three-day festival, HSB is great for your family to enjoy. Originally only featuring bluegrass musicians, the musical scope has expanded and now attracts numbers almost as high as the entire population of San Francisco.
